The truth is he was good at sports.
He was. Look it up. You’ll see.
He was great at baseball.
It’s true. He could have gone pro.
The problem is, was–whatever–he doesn’t like to exercise. He thinks its boring.
He’s smart too. Made good grades. In the upper tier of his class.
High School. College.
You can look that up too. It’s right there. In black and white.
The media. They never print that stuff. The good stuff.
Sports. Grades. It came easy for him. He barely had to work at it. And he was right there…
In the B+ to A- range.
Which means he’s smart.
But he’s no genius. And that bothers him. It bothered his dad too.
He’s a tough guy too. He really is. He fought a lot.
Nothing to be concerned about. It was military school. Everybody gets into fights in military school. It’s a right of passage.
He hated it. He didn’t want to go.
In hindsight it was good for him. It made him a man.
So what if he didn’t go to Vietnam. He’s rich. What father wouldn’t pull strings to keep their kid out of that war if he could?
His sons could have used some military school. Especially Jr. But their mother coddled them.
If his mother had treated him that way he wouldn’t be where he is now.
That’s what’s wrong with America today. Too soft. Especially the men.
Come on fellas get off mama’s tit. Go knock some heads.
To be cont…
I am so curious on where this trail is going to lead too…..is there a person you are writing about or could this be just anyone in general?

There is someone I have in mind, Michael. To me it’s very obvious who I’m writing about, of course. A painter paints a portrait and she knows who her subject is, although she may be the only one who knows. It depends on how good the artist is and how well known the subject is. Anyhow, I’ve tried to write this in such a way that it could be just about any rich, powerful man with narcissistic personality disorder.

What inspired this series of posts,Pam?

Oh…I’m always inspired about things going on around me. Current events. Personal experiences. History. Most of the time, as it was this time, it’s a combination of all of the above.

So you are writing about Donald Trump. I’m not sure where you will take this, but I will keep reading.

I’m glad you will keep reading. I’m not sure where this will end up. It’s fluid. I rarely know where my writing will take me. I know it’s the end when I get there. With this series, in particular, it’s not about the destination. It’s about the journey.

Naturally, I got it was Trump. Your clues were good! I am interested to see where it goes later, Pam. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Great painting Pam. I actually guessed…the last two lines did it. Looking forward to the rest.

Thanks Max. The last line is rather vulgar. I was trying to convey a malignant mindset. Keep in mind I haven’t said who this serial is about. Some have presumed. Some have asked. I’m reminded of the saying, “if the shoe fits…” One thing for sure, it’s not about Cinderella. Ha!

No it’s not about a saint that is for sure…yea I’m just guessing…I think I know but who knows…I’m looking forward to it Pam.

I love this line from a previous comment you gave here. It’s so true for me too. Many times I don’t know how a story is going to end. I start writing with an idea but don’t know where it’s heading. Sometimes the answer comes quickly, other times the story has lay there for a time before you find it.

Yes. For me it’s an unfolding process, a lot like life itself. Sometimes I agonize over a word or phrase, but other than that it’s pretty improvisational. I have learned, though, from struggling to end my novel, that I needed to have a bit more structure, especially if my intentions are to write genre literature. Genre literature (in my case a character driven, thriller with psychological undercurrents) needs to be more succinct. In other words–genre literature is pop, not jazz.
Anyway, I so appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.

It really is an intriguing, slow-building, creepy climb, Pam. I, too, can’t wait to see who it is. Although a lot of things fit, I personally can’t imagine it’s Trump for one reason: he is NOT smart. in fact, he’s a dumbass. Bush II actually seemed like he was dumb, but actually WAS very smart. But not Trump. Evidently when they bring talking points to him, they’ve learned not to take in pages in a report. They have to condense it to pictures. Just a few pictures!
Anyway, thanks for the creep-fest!

Thanks, Stacey. I’m delighted by the response I’ve gotten from this post…Oh, I’ve had higher numbers of views and likes and so forth, but I don’t put a lot of stock in those things. (I mean, I’m aware of them but it’s not make or break. Ha!) I’ve been delighted by the discussion.
Now here’s where I’m pretty stupid…I know I’m not supposed to do this…In fact it’s more than that, it’s the exact opposite of what I’m supposed to do. But I can’t help myself…You ever see the movie Primary Colors?
This series is like that…Is Primary Colors about Bill Clinton? It certainly is about a Clinton inspired character, no doubt, but to me, it’s more about the psychology of the Clinton like character and the psychology of just what made the Clinton like character flourish.
Personally I don’t think Trump’s stupid. I think he’s diabolically brilliant. And, I think he’s mentally ill. But more than any of that–I think he’s creepy.
I hope I didn’t ruin the series for you, Stacey. I value your input.

Well, the illustrious Wikipedia says the Travolta character was described as “Clintonian” although Emma Thompson’s character was not based on Hillary. But I guess it was about the Clintons, in the end, and a look-see into what makes them run, no pun intended.
I haven’t seen it, though. I don’t remember why we steered clear of that movie back then– possibly because of Travolta, whom I’m not that fond of. Or was less so back then.
Nope! You didn’t ruin the series for me! But I’ll agree to disagree with you re: Trump’s IQ. He’s very clever. But I don’t think being clever automatically indicates intelligence. I think he’s a master manipulator and knows how to “get over” and definitely has the art of smoke and mirrors down.
