I’m not a usually a big fan of jam bands, but (and this is a Nicki Minaj, Joe Camel butt of a but) when they’re locked and loaded with the peddle to the floor, like Mr. Wonder said, “your destination is the brightest star.”
Thrumming, humming, keeping pace, don’t get fooled by the super twang. The bridge ain’t out; wait for it, wait.

Pam…great pick Toy Caldwell is right up there with the great guitarists. This cut just rolls and draws you in… Thanks for sharing Pam…I’ve never seen this before. I always had a soft spot for them.

Yes, I’m a huge Toy fan. In fact I love the whole band with the exception of Doug Gray, the lead singer.
I like it better when Toy sings, like on ‘This Ol Cowboy”…but that didn’t happen often enough. The Midnight Special episode they hosted was fantastic. They also had the Charley Daniels Band and Poco on it, but Marshal Tucker was the band that shined.

“with the exception of Doug Gray” …funny thing was I was going to say the same thing but I didn’t know if you were a fan of him or not. Many people say that about him…from what I read I understand.
That video you had…that really pulled me into them. I’ve seen some great footage of them playing Can’t You See live as well and going on for a while…they made jams interesting which is not easy.

No idea why I dont know this band better. I guess it has to do with making choices and time (excuses). Never to late to take a deeper listen. always liked what I heard and I do like that guitar.

The guitarist, Toy Caldwell, is the reason I started listening to them. He’s very underrated. He’s a maestro.
The song This Ole Cowboy just blew me away. Yes, i knew Can’t You See…and Heard it in a Love song…Fire on the Mountain… and they were fine tunes as far as it went but this Ole Cowboy and 24 Hours at a Time, that’s when they became special.
I also really liked the sax/flutist Jerry Eubanks and the the jazz they incorporated into their sound. A very eclectic band, which I also appreciate.
