The fires in L.A. are terrible. It’s difficult to say if this has to do with climate change. But such disasters are becoming more frequent. It’s obviously a multiple crisis.
The BBC news showed some people being arrested for starting fires near the existing ones. It seems incredible that someone would do that, and the dozens of horrible people driving up there to loot abandoned houses. Pure evil.
I didn’t know that about the intentional arson of adjacent fires. But arson has played apart in so many horrible fires, historic and otherwise–so I’m not surprised.
Very courteous of you Pam to pray for others. The California Wildfires are tragic indeed. As a Catholic, I am going to recite this following prayer for the departed below:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
It is the least I can do and, at the same time, it is the most I can do. But it is not all that I can do. People of faith understand this…how powerful prayer is.
Your prayer is lovely. And to it I say, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Exactly. I would expect climate change to have something to do with it.
