I hope and pray no one tears this down. The loss of any statue be it Union or CSA is a tremendous loss. Because aside of which side they fought for, there were Americans first.

I don’t object to removal of Confederate monuments, yes, even tearing them down because they were traitors to our country and they fought for the right to enslave human beings.

A suitable quote for the 4th of July, Pam. Especially in 2020.
Best wishes, Pete.

It would be so great if all the people who yell, “Go back to where you came from” at others remembered or even knew about that great quote above. But we have a short memory here. And lots of denial.
Very uplifting post for the 4th. Thanks, Pam.

Racism. Intolerance. Sexism. Greed. All among the original sins of our country. Sin has it’s consequences and our day of reckoning, on this earth, for these sins is here. Reckoning is painful. But every country has a checkered past with these issues.
It is our ideas, our vision, our hope that are exacting, demanding and extracting atonement.
We are very young. We grapple with these consequences sooner than most. Within God’s grace, and his will, we will emerge stronger and better. And we are greatly blessed. To whom much is given, much is demanded.
